Summer CSA
The easiest way to eat local this summer
A weekly share of fresh, local food, grown for you and ready for pickup in your neighbourhood.

Our goal is to provide most of the fresh food your family needs every week.

Which Share Is Right for You?
Just Veggies
Best for: 1–2 adults
What to expect: A weekly box of 8–10 varieties of fresh seasonal vegetables, plus:
foraged mushrooms
fresh berries
extra additions throughout the season such as fruits, nuts and grains
Full Harvest
Best for: 2-4 people
What to expect: Everything in the Just Veggies share, plus:
1 dozen free-range eggs
1 loaf of Magpie’s Bakery organic sourdough
1 wedge of Creekside Creamery cheese
Water buffalo cured meat add-on
A weekly rotating selection of farmers sausage, jerky, pepperoni and smokies. All from our friends at Reverent Acres.
For our family of five, we’ve found the full share + meat add-on to be the perfect amount to get us through the week
A Note on Household Size
Every household eats a little differently.
A smaller household that cooks often may love a fuller share, while a larger family who is just starting to eat seasonally may prefer to begin with a simpler option.
If you’re unsure which share is the best fit, it’s always okay to start smaller or split with a friend.
What to expect throughout the season
Each box is built around what’s freshest and most abundant that week, so no two weeks are exactly the same.
That’s part of the beauty of eating seasonally.
Depending on the time of year, your share may include things like: salad greens, kale, radishes, herbs, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, beets, zucchini, onions, garlic, potatoes, squash

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Essentially it’s a subscription program to our farm. It’s a way to ensure you have good food to eat all season, and it helps us have up front capital when our costs are highest. We sometimes call it a Farm Share or a Harvest Box, but our favourite is a “subscription program for your belly” :)
-
If you’re away, you can get a friend/neighbour/petsitter/whoever to pick up your CSA share for you. Or, let us know that you will be away at least one day in advance and we will donate your share to Better Beginnings - a program under Chilliwack Community Services.
-
If it’s past the cut off point to pick up your share (usually 8pm) your share will be donated to the host, unless you have contacted us and made other arrangements.
-
It really depends on your culinary needs. For our standard full share, there’s about enough to supply a small family with enough fresh food for the week. For our family we find it’s just about perfect with the sausage add on.
-
Our boxes are Farmer’s Choice, packed with what’s best and freshest that week, so the contents are not customizable.
We know that can feel unfamiliar at first, but it’s also one of the best parts of a CSA: you get the most beautiful, seasonal food without having to think so hard about it.
Harvest fluctuates throughout the season, so you may receive slightly less produce in your box near the beginning of the season, and slightly more towards the middle and end of the season.
-
There will generally be some leafy greens (lettuce, spinach, arugula, etc.),
something that’s a root (bunch of beets, carrots, hakurei turnips, etc.),
something from the allium family (garlic, leeks, onions, etc.)
something that’s a fruit but seems like a veggie (tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, etc.),
something that’s from the brassica family (broccoli, cabbage, kale, etc.).
There will often be at least a couple of pounds of potatoes, either german butter, purple or sweet, and something that falls into an “other” category (bulb fennel and cilantro come to mind.)
Towards the very beginning of the season you’ll see more greens, and towards the end of the season, you’ll see more roots. (For past members, I promise there will be less daikon ;)
Along with all those veggies, in the full share, you will find a dozen eggs, a piece of local cheese (farmer’s choice of the week), multigrain sourdough, oyster mushrooms (or sometimes chantrelles, morels, lions mane, etc.),
and occasionally an extra add on such as cold rolled oats, honey, blueberries, kiwis, apples or other fruit -all locally grown from farmer friends we trust.
-
Please flatten and return your reusable cooler bag to your place of pick up, each week. We rely on this prompt return to keep our supply of cooler bags in good standing and our CSA running smoothly. Please also return your egg cartons and berry pints. Thanks!
-
At the present time we are not offering any half shares or modifications. We encourage you to find a friend or neighbour to split your share with!
Our partners
We are so happy to partner with the following farmers, ranchers, cheese makers and bakers to complete this project:
Magpie’s Bakery
Baker Nick is on board to supply the tastiest organic multigrain sourdough. Magpie’s is located in downtown Chilliwack.
Creekside Cheese and Creamery
A certified organic, family creamery, east of Agassiz with the sweetest cows, people and some darn good cheese. Creekside offers farm tours, incredible milk on tap, a wide variety of cheese, beef and eggs, all at their farm store in Agassiz.
Cedar Isle Farm
Cedar Isle is a certified organic, idyllic farm in Agassiz (right along the way to Creekside if you’re out for a drive!) Hannah, of Cedar Isle is growing a wide selection of beautiful veggies for the CSA. We will also, hopefully, be including oats or other grains from Cedar Isle later in the year. Oh and one more thing - we will be including some of Cedar Isle’s certified organic eggs!
Reverent Acres
Located just outside of Salmon Arm, our friends Matt and Kim are raising beautiful water buffalo and sheep on their ranch. Their animals are grass fed, free range, humanely raised and totally free of hormones or antibiotics. We’re so happy to offer their water buffalo farmers sausages!
Your Wildest Foods
Matt is the guy who brings all sorts of wild mushrooms to our shares. He’s a respectful forager, often found deep in the wilderness, emerging with buckets of morels, lobster mushrooms, chanterelles and more. We include wild mushrooms whenever there’s an abundance.
Little River Eggs
When our hens are feeling fussy about it being too hot/cold/wet/windy/sunny/snowy/etc. we turn to the farming family at Little River Eggs to supplement our supply. They feed all organic feed and support healthy, happy hens.
Local Harvest
Fraser Valley farming legends. We are so thankful to be able to include veggies from Local Harvest. Their veggies are grown in healthy, thriving valley soil, with exceptional flavour. Local Harvest will be supplying our weekly greens, as well as handful of other fun additions. We’re looking forward to their ginger and melons again!
With 14 pickup locations across Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, we’re closer than you think!
Community pick up point addresses will be shared with those in that specific community once you’ve registered.
We currently have multiple pick up locations in the following communities: Downtown Chilliwack, Sardis, Downtown Abbotsford, Langley (near 208th St and 80th Ave) North Burnaby (near Curtis St and Burnwood Dr) SFU Burnaby, Port Moody (near Moray St and 7A) East Van (Near E 10th and Fraser OR Nanaimo and E 1st OR Victoria Dr and E 19th) Kitsilano (near 14th and Arbutus) Dunbar (near Dunbar and 20th) North Van (near St Andrew’s ave and 29th St) or at our farm stand here in Ryder Lake.
